Handheld ultrasonic flow meter is one of competitive flow measurement method in the world. Its measurement accuracy can be better than 1.0%. In the industrial field, the pipeline surrounding environment is diverse .therefore, how to install ultrasonic flow meters based on specific environment has become an important issue. We have listed some points below that should be considered before installation and hope can help our customers increase installation efficiency and reduce the future maintenance cost.

Learn more about the site conditions
We should know the site before installation , including: 1. Distance from Installed sensor to the host ; 2. Pipe material, wall thickness and diameter; 3. Pipe age limit; 4. Fluid type, the presence of impurities, bubbles, and whether full pipe; 5. Fluid temperature; 6. Is installation site near interference sources (such as frequency, high magnetic field, etc.); 7. Host place four Seasons temperature; 8. The power supply voltage is stable or not; 9. The need for and type of remote signal. According to site conditions provided above, manufacturers can provide products in corresponding configuration, and if necessary, can also provide tailor-made models.

Choose a proper installation place
Selection of the pipe segment for installation is significant on accuracy. The selected pipe should avoid both interference and eddy current. Usually selected pipes should meet the following conditions: 1, Avoid installation near water pumps, high power stations, and strong magnetic places or strong vibration disturbance places 2, Selected pipe should be uniform and compact, in which ultrasonic wave can be easily transmitted; 3, There must be sufficient length of straight pipe, installed upstream straight pipe must be greater than 10D (Note: D = diameter), the downstream is greater than 5D; 4, There should be at least 30D distance from the upstream installation place to pump; 5, The pipes should be full of fluid .
